Terms of Service
Terms of Service
These terms use a shared structure for the Taiwan Life Buddy official website and the language exchange platform, which involves member sign-in, public profiles, and user interactions.
Please also read the Privacy Policy and Personal Data Collection Notice. By browsing the website, submitting a contact form, continuing with Google, or publishing a language exchange profile, you agree to the parts of these terms that apply to that feature.
1. Scope
These terms include general rules for the Taiwan Life Buddy official website and specific rules for the language exchange platform. The official website currently provides service information, pricing, partnership information, and contact forms. The language exchange platform involves Google sign-in, member data, public profiles, invitations, contact exchange, blocking, and reporting. Sections that expressly mention the language exchange platform apply only to those platform features.
2. Official Website and Contact Forms
You may use the official website to learn about TLB services, pricing, cooperation options, and submit contact forms. When submitting a form, you should provide true, accurate, and relevant information, and must not impersonate others, submit spam, interfere with website operations, or send large volumes through automation.
3. Language Exchange Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to register for account-based language exchange features. If you contact us on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to provide that information.
4. Account and Google Sign-In
The language exchange service may use Google sign-in to verify basic identity and reduce duplicate or abusive accounts. You are responsible for keeping your information accurate and for activity under your account. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe the account is misused, impersonated, or violates these terms.
5. Service
Taiwan Life Buddy provides local-life support information, company employee support inquiries, and language exchange discovery, invitations, contact exchange, blocking, and reporting features. The language exchange service helps users connect, but does not guarantee matching results, replies, learning outcomes, or offline meeting safety.
6. User Content
You keep ownership of content you submit. To operate the service, you authorize Taiwan Life Buddy to store, display, transmit, process, and manage that content as needed, such as showing public profiles, delivering invitation messages, and reviewing support or report records.
7. Prohibited Conduct and Community Rules
- Harassment, threats, sexual messages, unwanted sexual advances, or disturbing contact.
- Hate, discrimination, demeaning protected groups, or encouraging violence.
- Scams, payment requests, investment solicitation, impersonation, or materially false information.
- Sharing another person's photos, personal data, conversation screenshots, or contact details without consent.
- Illegal activity, bulk commercial outreach, spam, automated scraping, or interference with platform operations.
- Circumventing reports, blocks, suspension, invitation limits, or safety controls.
8. Reports, Blocking, Suspension, and Removal
You can block any member the platform shows you. You do not need a reason, and you do not need to report them first. A block is your own setting: you can lift it whenever you like, and that person can then appear in your listings again. Reporting is different. A report goes to a TLB reviewer and is kept as a record, and you cannot withdraw it once it is sent, so use it when something genuinely needs review. You can report someone the moment they invite you, without accepting first, and you can report anyone whose invitation you accepted or who accepted yours.
We may review suspicious conduct based on user reports, system records, or other credible information, and may remove content, unpublish profiles, limit invitations, suspend accounts, or delete accounts. For serious violations involving safety, fraud, or illegal activity, we may retain necessary records for disputes or lawful requests. Where an account is suspended for a serious violation, we may bar the same person from registering again, and we may also go on to delete the account. In either case, if the same person registers again, the new account is suspended automatically. Section 5 of the Privacy Policy sets out what we keep in order to do that, and for how long.
9. Offline Meeting Risk
If you meet another user in person, assess the risk yourself, choose a public place, tell someone you trust, and avoid money transfers, loans, or handing over important documents. Taiwan Life Buddy is not the organizer or guarantor of offline meetings.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is. Taiwan Life Buddy does not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, truthfulness of all user information, or permanent availability of third-party services. We are not liable beyond mandatory legal requirements for user interactions, offline meetings, third-party platforms, or causes outside our control.
11. Changes
We may update these terms for service changes, legal requirements, or safety needs. Material changes will be notified through the website, in-service notice, or another reasonable method. Continued use after publication means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing Law and Contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, Republic of China. For terms, privacy, reports, or account questions, contact us through the website or at service@taiwanlifebuddy.com.
